1. you need a healer to start. i tried other stuff. it takes too long to heal. but it seems like healers are REALLY unlikely to roll. Can you at a minimum, just add a re-roll button? So we can click less to get the character we want. having to go out and rename over and over again is REALLY boring. the increased healing at the clan is not enough. you need a healer. or i go negative gold immediately 2. I had characters created that don't even get a knife to start with. what is the point of that? 3. can you post what all the skills do? its not obvious and these things are different in each game. Its just guess work to pick stuff. 4. what is the point of so many first characters that can't even make it through a dungeon? Its REALLY boring to roll over and over again.

not an expert, so hopefully those with more info on it will respond, but will tell you the way i have gotten somewheres. It is easier to heal with a healer, but you also need something that can actually hit a creature and take some damage as well. I have rolled a few healers, that didnt have enough points to actually get healing, and most died before they did. A good fighter type character seemed to be the way to go. Sardonic kinda helped me by running a lot of multiplayer runs with me, with some of his established characters. It helped alot having more characters in there at once, since damage was spread thru more then just one target

Regretfully, there is alot of times in the game you will have to use hurt characters to keep running thru adventures. There is no other good option when first starting out. You will lose characters and lose them alot, even once you start getting higher levels. Dont get to attached to them. Been a few times just starting an adventure and having multiple monsters start on top of the group and pound you. Even fleeing isnt an option at times, when everything hits at one time.

Think there was a post about getting a list and definitions of what skills do what, but dont know if that will become availible. I started this clan over 20 times before I finally got a character to live past 4 xp. There are alot of times when you will run. Find the exit or flee. More then a few times i had 1 creature no one could seem to hit, but it was hurting the whole party. Restless bones are bad about that, because there are times that when you do hit, you do 0, thats right zero, points of damage.

Don't get too frustrated - it will take some time to adjust to the game as it can be quite difficult to get characters to live early on while learning the game! A cleric with healing is great to get but at the very beginning, it is much more useful to have a fighter type (fighter, grunt, magi, gladiator, paladin, barbaran etc) with hit points. I have found that the monsters tend to kill my clerics pretty quick (especially the ones that had healing!) What i have found to be successful is to select "Very Easy" for adventure type until you have decent weapons and some armor, then switch to "easy". I usually don't select "normal" level until i have about 50xp for a character and can have a few in a group. Anyone that has made it to 80+xp only do "normal" or higher adventure levels. Also, I never wait until characters are fully healed to head out for coins - as long as they are not in the red, they can adventure but that also explains why i had a high death rate early on. As for what the skills mean - i am still trying to figure out what everything is even after playing for a while :) PS - don't bother renaming characters until they get past level one is my opnion as you may have high turnover (unlike many other D&D type games)

couple of tips for you that i have found helps a lot in having characters survive early on. 1) watch their exhaustion level - if it is above 5, stop and rest til it's below 5. 2) if you see kobold wizards, flee. If you see restless bones, best to flee until you have better than a fist or knife as a weapon. 3) never go around a corner or stairs on your last movement point - allow to move back in case you encounter a monster on that last move. You more or less get a free attack if you wait for them to round the corner to you or come up the stairs to you :)

So im not the only one that seems to have monsters target my healing clerics. Seeing what the creature holds is a big thing when fighting it. Made a mistake several times of not realizing one of the creatures had something like a pike until after it hit someone for 7 damage. Got unlucky a few times and found out that character only had 6 hit points left (life points?) And i do agree with the futility of having a character start off with absolutely nothing, but its worse when they have 2 or less hit points.

Good tips PiGuys!! When you are first makeing a clan you can sip the first day and make a new guy then go into the dungeon with two guys. Get clubs. There are alot of restless bones and clubs do full damage to them. Dont run your guys in groups. Do it by xp and need for coin.
