1/29/2013 7:57:19 AM | The chances of breaking are dmg/(dur*10) so an 80 durability shield taking 1 point of damage has a 1/800 break chance. With minor durability (+20%) the shield is 96 dur, so 1/960.
Which is a little unrealistic I admit. I'm not sure how 1000 darts hurled at a shield could damage it. But then again, coding "shields can't be hurt by practice darts" isn't really true, since a crude hide shield or wicker shield is probably easily ruined by 10 or 20 darts thrown through it.
Maybe your guy had his shield arm thrown out wide and when the dart hit his hand he accidentally ripped the handle or straps or whatever off the shield, making it unusable.
I could see that happening. Hit the hand holding the shield 960 times and eventually you'll flinch enough to damage something i bet.

While not happy about it happening I do expect it to happen. Just was wondering how unlucky I got was all.
