Scope creep is when a small project becomes larger and larger as it pulls in related items until you have a major renovation on your hands.

I am experiencing rather major scope creep at the moment. You may have noticed that the attack ratings on your adventure screens no longer match those on the character pages. The ones on the adventure screen are more correct, although neither one is really where they will end up when this project is done. It turns out all combat stats and skills, and all items, are going to be adjusted in a rather substantial way. This will allow new features to be added. I'll try to post updates as I go when any component is finished.

I thought that was just plain programming. Start something one way and find out that it needs to be redone every couple of weeks when adding in more stuff.

As a side note, posting updates when finished? Does that mean there will never be another update, since nothing is ever complete?

Just an observation, with new changes weight REALLY drags down the speed of charaters. Too much maybe. Also I am seeing characters with high fatigue and high speed getting multi attacks in a round. Seems counter intuitive and creates more fatigue faster. Also engaging multiple monster groups seems to be a REALLY bad idea. Considering you have yet to incorporate all these changes you may want to hold off on having people play. Also weakness attacks from demons much deadlier? Yes monster parties are getting many more attacks per round than party members

since cash generation has been reduced by these changes how about reducing DC costs?

Silver much as I hate to say it, if cash is so critical that stepping down a difficulty level or two is going to cripple you, you might want to hold off for a week or so until this overhaul is complete. Once the fighting styles are in after all items are converted, you'll be able to run the same levels as before.

well membership will expire oh well, what happening to me for informational purposes is that I need to run 2 or 3 times at lower level to get same cash as before. Which means I need more DC to heal everyone up. Which means more cash. Besides this game is extremely difficult someone says. :)

Legion, with new changes it going to take some characters to get level 6 in a weapons skill before any negative modifiers from a weapon is negated. I.e Club is -6 attack. SO you will need to get to level 3? in club skill before you break even. Considering that it will probably take average character to get to level 3 to get that club skill seems to be a steep price to pay. Consider that if you have skill in the weapon being used that the negative modifer of the weapon be negated?

As I've been saying all along, the techniques that get unlocked as you gain weapon skills will make up for the smaller gains each level. Although I haven't made the techniques yet, I am ready to start adding them if today's changes are all working correctly. I don't know the specifics yet, but for example at "club level 3" there might be a technique option that gives you +20 attack or so. I'll discuss this more when the techniques are in.

Something like a muscular barbarian would be able to split someones head with an axe, while a swordsman would simply run the blade thru the front of the neck for different fighting techniques. Where having alot of skills to diverse points into, and the game being set up for members only, this set up will really force those that wont be members to stop playing. Too many skill points needed if you dont have great stats, and even then sometimes you need 40+ points just to fight without penalties. Might want to have that emphasized even more on the main page before people log in.

are these techniques going to require skillpoints? or will they be able to be used by anyone with the appropriate pewvious skill unlocked?

Techniques do not require skill points.

Legion, Just an FYI, you may want to look at the items given to starting characters family heirlooms. Some of the dwarven stuff is so heavy that it better to get rid of them than keep them.
