SAMURAI tries to flee [44%]. SAMURAI cannot escape. SAMURAI tries to flee [44%]. SAMURAI runs away, and will receive no experience from this adventure. this was on the same round. how many times does or should a charcter try to flee? im guessing the better initiative means a charcter could try to flee multiple times?

I see I can still count on you for making more work for me. Yes, this should be changed. Instead of 10 segments for a flee attempt it should probably be longer, perhaps 20 or even a turn-ending action. What should happen here is setting standard times for each type of action, although spellcasting as mentioned elsewhere should be variable depending on the spell. Which should be shortened for expert casters or with specific casting speed skills. And then after casting, on a second action there should be the option of casting the same spell or reverting to a default action stored someplace complete with stance (which would be used on adventure starts also) and target info, and going that far it would make sense to include a basic scripting engine so you could make conditional actions and teach your guys to follow simple patterns in recurring situations. Monsters too for that matter.

I think I'll just leave it at one flee per action right now :)

Oh sure ...lazy lazy :D i cant wait til my ninja gets feared and tries to flee 6 times :) how about "we" ;) just change fear for now... that the first round the character is actually 'paralyzed' with fear and the following round he tries to flee.
