Returned to the game from a few weeks off, it worked fine before I left, and is now generating this problem when I try to start and adventure. Input string was not in a correct format. I believe this is error corrected now, although since it is specific to your browser I cannot test it. However there is going to be an underlying problem that is going to hurt your play in a number of ways since your browser isn't able to understand standard java commands such as checking your screen resolution. I'm guessing you are probably using firefox, or some other browser that has very poor java support. In order to play mythic warfare, you really need to get a browser that supports java standards such as internet explorer. If you are a mac user, I believe safari understands java, although since I don't know anyone with a mac I have no way to test that.

Problem has been fixed thank you, and the game play has improved to start with some weapons. There is still a skill element missing in survival in the game, which means my patience with it is very limited. I set it up the best I can, I upgrade as I can, but in the end all my guys die (about 10th round of losing everyone) and I have to leave it for a week or so before I am prepared to give it another try.

To say that your failure to succeed is evidence of a missing skill element to the game is quite a leap. Many players have dozens of characters of higher level, and regularly promote groups of lower level characters. You may want to read all available forum posts and help files, and if possible come to the IRC chat to ask other players for advice. My guess is that setting up your clan "the best you can" may not actually be "the best possible."

It is true that occasionally a group of recruits is so small and so bad that none reach second level, but for many players this is rare. It is hard to believe that there is no skill involved when some players are regularly promoting recruits to higher levels while you, as you say, continually lose everyone. When one person continually succeeds and another continually fails its hard to explain that fact away without admitting a skill element.

A quick look at your last 50 adventure results is somewhat telling. For example you took a group of 3 starting characters on adventures level 0, 1, 2, and 3 in order until they all died. Part of mythic warfare "skill" is adventure selection and sending level 1 characters on level 3 adventures is a significant mistake. Following that bluder you started using a group of 4 characters (a great decision, when available) but soon stopped doing level 0 adventures with them and moved them up to level 2 adventures, where they died. This seems to be your regular pattern. A few adventures at level 0, and then quickly bringing each group up to level 2 adventures (occasionally just a string of level 1s) until they all die.

I would say this is direct evidence refuting your skill argument. A game that allows the players to choose between situations that lead to certain death or possible survival is empowering the players to learn what works and what doesn't; it requires a degree of skill to recognize when to flee and when to fight and likewise when to increase your adventure level to the highest possible and when to be patient.

Try running level 0 adventures until you have a solid crew of level 2 characters. Part of being a skillful game player is trying different strategies until you find one that works.
