WarWorld 3/2/2013 2:38:14 PM | hordes are killing me. Unless someone can suggest a way for me to get larger groups I might as well kill everyone and start all over again. |
3/2/2013 4:28:10 PM | Only advice I can give you about this is if you wanna start over, create a new account. Killing everyone off is a harsh thing to do since the game is still in transition.
I do wonder if the others have had this problem as well, but instead of saying something, they just went on a sabatical for a while. |
WarWorld 3/2/2013 4:36:27 PM | My problem is most of my higher level characters are fighers, need to get magic users up there. But unless I have enough cash to put on clan world I have to adventure with them and they still get experience. Yes I could do the easiest level but even then they are not always easy and it gets me upset not getting xp for adventure. |
Canuckistan 3/2/2013 9:10:47 PM | I am one of the ones taking a sabbatical until the current round of updates are done :) |
3/3/2013 9:48:06 PM | yeah, I have run into a few issues with having to run day changes, but cannt seem to get enough of the clan in money that I can actually get closer to even having a portal to the clan world.
I guess another way to try to take care of this is create some more lower level fighters and use them as fodder for gaining xp with the mages. Not a safe way of doing it, but could work.
Might be me, but it seems that no matter where in groups I put certain characters, they always seem to be the only targets for monster attacks. |
Legion 3/4/2013 8:13:47 PM | I just wanted to chime in to say I am aware of the current state of things (not all items converted, and not all techniques coded). Thanks everyone for bearing with me since I obviously am working far less hours on Mythic Warfare in recent weeks than I used to.
In my clan I've found that my highest level characters are really illustrating their different power with their xp. My best characters seem to still (slowly) march upward in level, but a lot of characters have actually been dropping. It seems like they tend to gravitate toward whatever equilibrium point they can individually sustain. Some of my guys don't seem to be able to get past level 4, others run into trouble at 5, 6, 7, 8, etc. I really like how dynamic advancement can be now, and getting high level characters can certainly be a real challenge. I suspect that when these changes are completed it will be noticeably easier again with all equipment, spells, and skills back in balance.
For what its worth, I don't bother with storing people on the clan world anymore. I just let their XP fall back to where it wants to gravitate toward. The bulk of my mid-level guys are always mythic on hero score, but the high level guys are more variable. My highest level guys even have a few at cautious, and between that and the amount I have to take the early exit to keep them alive, their xp falls. Eventually they'll get low enough to start being able to run efficiently with the next group of guys coming up behind them. If you don't care about xp much, money isn't too much of an issue. Even on a level 35 adventure for example, level 7 characters can (unless the map looks scary) usually take down a few encounters before leaving (taking the xp hit) and come home with a great profit.
A final point: I agree with Night Riders, killing off nice characters seems sad. There is nothing wrong with trying a fresh start with a new account. |
WarWorld 3/7/2013 11:01:06 PM | Please explain falling back in xp? I dont' understand |
3/7/2013 11:10:57 PM | I think he means their hero level. As it drops, it starts limiting the xp they get per adventure. But you knew this.
Might also be he retreats more often now, instead of letting them duke it out against something that might actually do what he wants, kill characters. Kill a few things, then run. Kinda what legion coded all this hero stuff to try to avoid people doing. Or am I missing something here? |
Legion 3/8/2013 8:08:58 AM | Correct. Kill a few things, then run. A low hero score combined with frequent running means that a lot of my characters have trouble progressing beyond a certain point.
It turns out killing high level characters wasn't the only "solution" to endless clan growth. I have effectively slowed my clan progress without increasing my death rate too much. |

have to say thats hard for alot of old school gamers...where even going out killing a kobald and heading back is still a positive few XP...it just goes against thought processes :) |
